R & M Surveys has conducted its sixth annual survey of service levels offered by trustees in Dublin to fund promoters. Below are the key results from the analysis conducted towards the end of 2009.
INTRODUCTION
We are pleased to present the key results of this leading survey, which measures customer satisfaction by means of questionnaires completed by fund promoters using Dublin as their chosen domicile for retail and institutional funds, with respect to the trustee services provided to them by independent trustees. It does not cover hedge funds which may be administered in Dublin but are domiciled elsewhere.
For 2009 a new scoring system was introduced, moving from a 7-point scale to a 10-point scale.
RESULTS
For the second year running, HSBC took top honors as best Dublin Trustee. BNY Mellon and JPMorgan swapped positions in the ranking table compared with the previous year.
This year, respondents were also given the opportunity to assess their supplier's custody service. The results are depicted in the second table. JP Morgan is absent because their clients did not participate in this part of the survey.

CONCLUSIONS
In another challenging year (and after adjusting for the change to a 10-point scoring system) overall scores declined a little year-on-year. Nevertheless, there are some significant performance improvements over earlier years.
