ISIN - definition of term
The International Securities Identification Number (ISIN) is a numbering system, designed by the United Nation's International Organization for Standardization (ISO) and widely accepted by worldwide securities markets as the international industry standard. ISIN is made up of a 2 character prefix representing the country of issue, the national security number if one exists, and a check digit.
