Collateral trust bonds - definition of term

Collateral Trust Bonds are bonds that are secured by other securities (stocks and bonds) which are often controlled by the issuer and are deposited with a trustee. These bonds are only as secure as the creditworthiness of the issuer and the market value of the deposited securities.
